Allan E. Seward Engineering Geology provides geology, soil engineering, and materials testing in southern California. The firm focuses on serving clients within the private and public sectors with services that include geologic hazard evaluations, geotechnical exploration and testing, geo-design of retaining structures and landslide repairs, construction monitoring, and materials testing. We are based out of northern Los Angeles County. Our firm allows our staff to gain hands-on experience in many different aspects of a project. We strive to provide quality services to our clients.

We are currently accepting applications for an immediate opening for a full-time Civil Engineer.

Job Description

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for leading, organizing, and executing projects and assignments. As a Civil Engineer, you will work on a wide variety of projects from residential and private developers to local government agencies and municipalities. Tasks include preparation of proposals, developing subsurface explorations programs, reviewing subsurface data and assigning laboratory testing, evaluating field and laboratory data, liquefaction, settlement, and slope stability analysis, foundation parameters for shallow foundations, retaining walls and piles, and preparing geotechnical reports.

Key Qualifications

Holds a BS Degree in Civil Engineering and a valid Professional Engineering (PE) license in California. Candidates with EIT, pending PE licenses, and/or PE in other states may also be considered, provided the candidate obtains a California PE as soon as possible within 6 to 12 months of the hire date.  Proficient in Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of liquefaction, settlement, bearing capacity, slope stability, and retaining wall analyses. Organized work approach with the ability to adapt and adjust as required to support the project's current needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year (or higher): negotiable depending upon proven ability to generate new business.
