Project Geotechnical Engineer

Bauer Associates Inc., is a geotechnical consulting firm established in 1988.  We provide geotechnical consultation, geologic consultation, construction observation and testing services on a wide range of projects throughout Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Lake and Mendocino Counties.

Bauer Associates, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated full-time Geotechnical Engineer and Engineering Geologist to join our team.

Desired Skills and Experience:

PE license desired, EIT required.  Either have obtained or desire to work towards GE license.

Preferably 2 - 3 years practical experience in geotechnical projects, including conducting subsurface evaluations, laboratory testing, analysis of field and laboratory test data, preliminary geotechnical analysis and design, and construction observation and testing.

Strong computer skills in and geotechnical software (Rocscience, GeoStudio, LPile, Cliq, Tensar +, etc).

Work well with other design consultants and contractors.

Responsibilities

The Staff Engineer will be expected to have strong analytical skills, technical knowledge of the principles of soil mechanics, and be capable of performing a wide range of preliminary geotechnical engineering analysis and fieldwork.

Project tasks may include the following:

• Planning, scheduling, conducting and/or coordination of field and laboratory testing.
• Performing preliminary engineering analysis and report writing.
• Preparation of proposals, plan review, geotechnical reports, calculations.
• Performing construction observation and testing.
