Project Geologist

Bauer Associates Inc., is a geotechnical consulting firm established in 1988.  We provide geotechnical consultation, geologic consultation, construction observation and testing services on a wide range of projects throughout Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Lake and Mendocino Counties.

Desired Skills and Experience:

PG license desired, GIT required.  Either have obtained or desire to working towards CEG license.

Preferably 2 - 3 years practical experience in geotechnical related projects, including conducting subsurface evaluations, laboratory testing, analysis of field and laboratory test data, geological analysis (landslides, fault studies, etc.), and construction observation and testing.

Work well with other design consultants and contractors.  

Knowledge of GIS applications, geophysical analysis and slope stability software analysis is helpful (Rocscience, GeoStudio, etc).

Responsibilities

The Geologist will be expected to have strong analytical skills, technical knowledge of the principles of soil mechanics, and be capable of performing a wide range of preliminary geotechnical engineering analysis and fieldwork.

• Project tasks may include the following:
• Planning, scheduling, conducting and/or coordination of field and laboratory testing.
• Performing preliminary geologic and engineering analysis and report writing.
• Preparation of proposals, reviewing plans, geotechnical reports, calculations.
• Performing construction special inspections, observation and testing.
