Wayne Ting & Associates, Inc. (WTAI), a geotechnical engineering firm serving the high-growth San Francisco Bay Area, is seeking a qualified Project Geotechnical Engineer for a full-time position in its Fremont, California office.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in geotechnical engineering and the ability to contribute effectively within a professional engineering environment. The ideal candidate is either close to obtaining their Professional Engineer (PE) license or has recently obtained licensure. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field (required) Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline (preferred) Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure in the near term (required)

The responsibilities of the project engineer include following items:

1. Geotechnical soil sampling at the proposed project site

2. Geotechnical laboratory testing

3. Engineering analysis

4. Landslide slope stability analysis

5. Liquefaction and settlement evaluations

6 Review of grading plans and foundation plans

7. Geotechnical consultations

8. Field grading observation and testing and foundation excavation observation

9. Preparation of geotechnical reports

10. Geotechnical consultations
