Geotechnical Field Technician - Level 1, 2, Senior

GEOTECHNICAL FIELD TECHNICIAN – Level 1, 2, Senior

San Francisco Bay Area Geotechnical consulting firm Murray Engineers, Inc. has openings for experienced Geotechnical Field Technicians to join our team in Spring 2024.

Job Responsibilities & Details

• Geotechnical field construction observations and testing, including foundation excavations, grading, and drainage installation
• Preparation of daily field reports
• Geotechnical laboratory testing
• Logging and sampling of exploratory borings and field mapping
• Full-time, non-exempt, hourly position
• Typically approximately 40-hr per week average (+/- seasonally), with opportunity for seasonal overtime

Education / Experience / Qualifications

• Approximately 3 to 5 years of geotechnical technician work experience or more (Level 2 to Senior) is ideal, but candidates with less experience (Level 1) may be considered
• High school diploma or GED, College course work in science/math/engineering is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook computer applications
• Self-motivated, dependable, with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Enjoy working outdoors
• Candidates must maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
• Reliable transportation (company field vehicle may be available for site visits)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis

Compensation & Benefits

• Approximate Regular Hourly Compensation Range: $30 to $38.5/hour (depending on experience/performance level)
